Styles and methods taught: I use Suzuki book for beginner to start , then transfer to other pieces when students are ready. I emphasize the importance of practicing scale and am open to all repertoire.

Biography: Yi-Ying (Jocelyn) Wei is a Taiwanese cellist with a Master’s degree in Cello Performance from the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany. She has over two decades of experience performing as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player across Europe and Asia. Her teaching career spans all ages, from young beginners to advanced youth orchestra students, with a strong emphasis on musical expression, disciplined technique, and personal growth.

Ms. Wei served as a specialist cello instructor and chamber coach at several prestigious schools in Taiwan, and her students have consistently received top honors in national competitions. Bilingual in Mandarin and English, she brings cultural fluency and communication skills to her teaching. Now based in California, she continues to share her passion for music with a diverse student base, while balancing her professional life with the joys and responsibilities of being a devoted wife and mother of two.
