Ivetta Natzkaya, viola, is an orchestral and chamber musician based in Portugal. Ivetta joined the Orquestra do Algarve as Co-Principal viola in 2007.
She performs regularly with her quartet, Cordas Douradas.
Previously, she was a member of the Singapore Symphony, and served as Principal Viola with the Lancaster Festival in Ohio. She has performed as a soloist with the Boston Chamber Orchestra and the Orquestra do Algarve.
Raised in St. Petersburg, she studied at the Mussorgsky College, before moving to Boston, where she studied with Zinaida Gilels at the Longy Music School. She received her masters degree on full scholarship from the Boston Conservatory where she studied violin with Lynn Chang and viola with Patricia McCarty.
Ivetta is sought after as a teacher. She is the founder of Estúdio da Música in Faro, Portugal and the coordinator of Junior academy in the Shkolnikova academy in France. She specializes in early education and chamber music coaching. Ivetta’s students have won national competitions in Portugal, international competitions in Europe and Canada and hold places in top youth symphonies. She is an active clinician, giving masterclasses both nationally and internationally.
