Biography: Stephanie Wu is a professional cellist and dedicated teacher who brings warmth, patience, and over two decades of experience to her students. Praised for her "perceptive musicianship" (The Washington Post) and "plush, plangently singing tone" (San Francisco Classical Voice), she has performed on world-class stages—from soloing with the National Symphony Orchestra at age 17 to playing chamber music with members of the Vienna, Berlin, and Philadelphia Philharmonics.

Stephanie has been the Assistant Principal Cellist of the Berkeley Symphony since 2009 and teaches in local public schools as well as privately. She works with students of all ages and levels, helping them build strong fundamentals while discovering their own musical voice. Her teaching style is nurturing, structured, and encouraging—designed to help each student grow in confidence and enjoy the process of learning.

A graduate of Harvard University (Phi Beta Kappa) and the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK, Stephanie combines a deep academic and musical background with a passion for mentoring young musicians.
