In addition to our regular shop crew, we have a fine set of music teachers offering lessons in violin, cello, and other instruments.
Shop Staff
Patrick Heaney is the owner of Heaney Violins. He studied bow making, restoration, and rehair with Lynn Armour Hannings and violin restoration with Hans J. Nebel. Since 2005, he has provided bow rehair and repair services for the St. Lawrence String Quartet workshop. Prior to opening his own shop, Partick apprenticed with Hideo Kamimoto at Kamimoto Violins for ten years, specializing in violin set up, restoration, and repair. He was manager of the string department at West Valley Music for five years. In his spare time, he is studying cello with Irene Sharp.
Todd Novak
works mainly in the repair department doing setup, repairs, and restorations. He excels in varnish touch-up. In New York, he studied luthiery with Dave Santo of Santo Guitar Company. After moving to California, he worked doing repairs and set up for Mark Silber Guitars in Berkeley. He is a builder, restorer, and collector of ukuleles, as well as a professional musician, composer, and recording artist.
Connie Tse
is our retail manager and office administrator. When not managing the store front, she finds time for learning the cello.
Abraham Aragundi
demonstrates cellos, violins, violas, and bows for customers in the shop. He is an advanced cellist studying with Irene Sharp.
Justine Milburn
demonstrates violins, violas, and bows. She graduated from Mills College with a BA in violin performance. She has studied contemporary and traditional classical music with Graeme Jennings of the Arditti String Quartet, folk and suzuki violin with Deby Benton Grosjean, and classical violin with Alice Talbot. Justine performs with the Palo Alto Philharmonic, the Argentine tango band, Los Bandacticos, and is forming a modern classical string quartet. She has been teaching privately since 2004.
Aaron Rosengauss
demonstrates violas, violins, and bows. Currently, he's studying Viola Performance at the Boston Conservatory. He continues to help in the shop when home for the holidays.
